🍽️ Salons & Restaurants

Olive & Ember Kitchen

The phone rang through dinner service and the menu was invisible. Now tables book themselves online.

01 · The problem

What was going wrong

A well-loved neighbourhood kitchen whose reservation system was the phone next to the pass, answered mid-service, and whose menu existed only on paper inside the door.

  • Booking calls came exactly at dinner rush; unanswered calls became tables filled somewhere else.
  • Diners choosing where to eat couldn't find the menu, hours, or photos, so they picked the place that showed all three.
  • No-shows on busy nights left empty tables that had turned other diners away.

This problem isn't unique. The research says so:

  • 83% of diners review a menu online before visiting a restaurant
  • 77% of diners visit a restaurant's website before dining in or ordering
  • Nearly 70% of diners say a poor website has discouraged them from visiting

02 · What we built

The solution, in 26 minutes

One 26-minute build: the menu, the tables, and the kitchen's story, working front-of-house on the internet.

The menu, beautifully online

Every dish with photos and prices, updated by chat when the season (or the chef) changes it.

Table reservations

Diners pick a date, time, and party size; the booking lands on WhatsApp for one-tap confirmation.

Advance deposits for peak nights

A small deposit on weekend and festival bookings turned no-shows into committed covers.

Found when diners decide

Built for "restaurants near me", with hours, photos, and reviews where diners look first.

03 · The value

What changed

The kitchen didn't change a single recipe. It changed who found a table.

The phone stopped mid-service

Reservations book themselves online while the team plates dinner.

The menu converts browsers

Diners arrive already knowing what they're ordering, parties already agreed.

No-shows stopped hurting

Peak-night deposits mean an empty table is now the rare exception.

“The phone used to ring through dinner service. Now the tables book themselves while we cook.”
